Construction Liens / CCB Claims
We want to make sure our contractor clients are paid for their work. Our attorneys advise contractor clients on the best methods to establish and perfect their construction lien rights, so we can foreclose on those liens if they are not paid. Construction liens are based on statutes, and the rules for establishing, perfecting, and foreclosing on those liens must be strictly followed to ensure the best results. If strictly followed, the construction lien is a powerful tool for recovering unpaid amounts and can allow us to recover your lien filing fees and our attorney fees.
Some disputes may be best resolved through the Construction Contractors Board (“CCB”). We advise our clients whether a particular dispute would be appropriate for the CCB’s dispute resolution process, how to file a Complaint with the CCB, and whether we should represent our client in the CCB Complaint process. We have successfully pursued CCB Complaints and defended appeals of CCB Orders to the Office of Administrative Hearings.
